FALA is a landscape architecture firm specializing in the landscape design for custom single family homes and small scale multi-family residential and commercial projects. Based in San Diego California, we are a full-service studio with projects ranging from coastal to inland communities to North County. With our team of experienced professionals and consultants, we can help each client develop their project’s goals and achieve and implement their vision with the highest standards, while meeting schedules and submittal requirements of architects and allied professionals. FALA designs the entire landscape from concept to construction, with every irrigation and stormwater system considered as intently as hardscape finishes and plant selection.
FALA is particularly adept at anticipating and designing for the evolving landscape requirements required by municipalities in California, and creates designs that exceed these local requirements as well as the expectations of each client.
Mark Anthony Fuerte
Partner/Project Designer
Mark brings experience from having worked on large- and small-scale projects. From developing masterplans at EDAW/AECOM to managing and designing custom residential projects for local landscape architects, he works closely with clients to ensure their projects meet the highest standards from start to finish.
Now, along with Gail, Mark is using his hands on experience in the field to help clients of FALA achieve their ideal designs, drawing on his extensive knowledge of construction techniques and latest 3D modeling technologies.
Mark is currently involved in his local little league as a 7U head coach. He enjoys building up the young players with basic baseball skills, confidence, and team work.

Gail E. Zerbe
Partner/Landscape Architect
Gail is a landscape architect and land planner-project manager. She has experience in projects ranging in size, scope, and location from the New York Yankees spring training complex in Tampa, FL to pro bono work at local schools in Point Loma, CA. Other projects include schools, churches, a civic center and multi-use development master plans and custom residential design.
Gail specializes in major account management and personalized customer service. Top priorities include contractor support and coordination during all phases of the project from design and production preparation to construction administration.
Gail enjoys participating in AKC dog shows with her American Foxhound ‘California Here I Come’ Everett, photography, travel and entertaining.
